Privacy Policy

We built Maple Tree Kids for families, so privacy comes first. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
From parents: your email address, name (if you give it), and sign-in details. Payments go through our payment partner, Paddle. We never see or store your full card number.
About your kids (entered by you): first name or nickname, grade or age group, avatar, interests, and game progress such as stars, answers and finished levels.
Optional: photos of real-life missions that you choose to upload, and messages you send to our help team.
Basic technical info: device type and pages visited, used only to keep the service working and to fix problems.
What we never do
No ads. We never sell or rent personal information. Kids never get their own accounts, email addresses or chat. We don't build advertising profiles of anyone.
How we use information
To run the games, save progress, show you reports, process your membership, answer help tickets and keep the service safe.
Why we're allowed to use it
Contract: to run the membership you signed up for. Consent: a parent's consent when adding a kid profile, which you can withdraw anytime by deleting it. Legitimate interests: keeping the service safe, fixing problems and improving games. Legal obligation: keeping records the law requires, such as tax records.
Who we share it with
Service providers that help run the app (hosting and database, voice generation for read-aloud), each bound to protect your data.
Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for selling memberships, managing subscriptions, taking payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
Professional advisers (such as lawyers and accountants) when needed, and authorities when the law requires it.
Co-parents and grandparents only see what you invite them to see.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Maple Tree Kids is made for children under 13, and a parent or guardian creates every account and every kid profile. Adding a child is your consent for us to collect the information listed above for that child. See our Children's Privacy notice for details.
Keeping data safe
Data is encrypted in transit, private photos are stored privately, and each family can only see its own data.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. After you close it, we delete or anonymise it within 30 days, except payment and tax records, which are kept as long as the law requires.
Your choices
You can view, change or delete any kid profile from the parents' page. To delete your whole account and all of its data, email us or send a help ticket, and we'll do it within 30 days.
Changes
If we make important changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
